Nelson Hernández is Botucal’s newest Maestro Ronero
Botucal is proud to introduce its new Maestro Ronero, Nelson Hernández. With over thirty years of experience in the liquor industry, Nelson will be joining Tito Cordero and Gilberto Briceño to reinforce this team of talented and experienced Venezuelan rum-makers.
Seeing distillation as a science, blending as an art, and the combination of both as the ultimate key to produce an outstanding rum, Hernández has demonstrated his excitement assuming this new position in Destilerías Unidas S.A. (DUSA). He also recognizes the patience, passion, dedication and profound respect for tradition required to be a true Maestro Ronero.
Throughout the years working at DUSA, Nelson Hernández has acquired a great knowledge and experience in several areas such as: Maintenance, projects, production process (including distillation, filling of the barrels, aging, treatment of residue, industrial services, electricity and water treatment), shipping, bottling, agricultural division, and planning.
Finally, in 2017 he became part of Botucal’s rum-making experts, working alongside Tito Cordero and Gilberto Briceño, completing this team of professionals who share an insatiable passion and work tirelessly to produce quality rums with a unique profile.
